Yahoo Japan to switch to Google's search engine →
How this is even possible is beyond me. Yahoo only owns 1/3 of Yahoo Japan, which allows Y! Japan to abandon their own namesake?
Don't mess with this guy...

Having Trouble Coming Up with Christmas Ideas
Mom is demanding a list…yikes. So far it includes only socks (I am lame).
Death of a Once Cool Site
Used to really like Killer Startups but the site has really sold out lately. Just checking out the Site Reviews category a second ago and was amazing at the junk on there. Every single site featured started with fro___. Looks like they’ve hired someone to just write up every single website as a “Killer Startup” in an effort to drive more traffic to the site. Looking deeper at...

Yahoo Gives Up Search and Gets Nothing Back
Yesterday’s Yahoo-Microsoft search deal is a complete mystery to me from Yahoo’s perspective. They have now essentially given up on search and handed over their current #2 market share to Steve Ballmer & Co. all in an effort to reduce costs? Now I realize that reducing costs is critical for companies right now, but this move effectively eliminates Yahoo from the search game. With...

BizEquity - Rapid Online Company Valuations
Just stumbled across BizEquity.com which with just a few parameters of information can help you valuate a business. Not entirely clear how the valuation works, but from the inputs that it asked me for when trying it out, it looks like the CAPM using a number of different variables to come up with the most accurate discount rate.
There’s even an Accuracy gauge that shows you how accurate...

Uncharted Video Game to Movie →
My parents, who for whatever reason, bought a PS3 when what they really wanted was a Bluray player also ended up with the PS3 game, Uncharted somehow, which I’ve spent a few hours (out of sheer curiosity) playing and was surprised and how good of a game it was. However, I’m shocked to hear that its been picked up for a movie. Does Hollywood really have that hard of a time finding...

Bing - Better Search, Bizarre Marketing
Bing.com is popping up everywhere right now. Tv ads, media mentions, lots of blog coverage, heck Steve Ballmer even name dropped Bing when I was at The National Summit yesterday. But I’ve also noticed some really bizarre advertising going on with Bing through Google AdSense.
See here on a this page that hit the Digg homepage yesterday and there’s an AdSense ad for...

Ann Arbor is on the World Cup bid list. Seriously? Could be pretty great to catch a World Cup match just down the street.

iStockPhoto Gets Even Worse
I posted a few days back about how poor my experience with iStockPhoto has been. Well..after writing that post I received another email from them that seemed to clear things up, but in fact just made matters worse.
First I was told to get the 10 free photos I had to go to: http://www.istockphoto.com/imageoffer.php?lpid=join-istock well that’s actually not a valid page. Then i was told that...
