This morning while browsing the Internet I saw an ad for 10 free images and 10% off at iStockphoto, a low cost stock photo site.
Seemed like a good deal and worth a try, especially since I’m starting to put together a few new sites right now. So I clicked on the ad and signed up…but after signing up I noticed that I had 0 credits for images, rather than 10 free credits.
Hmmm, must be a bug in the system, right? So I contacted iStockphoto support figuring that they’d get it fixed up quickly.
They responded by asking me what site and page I saw the ad on, so I told them it was on Yahoo, but I wasn’t sure what exact page.
Their response…”Unfortunately we do not have any kind of banner adds with Yahoo. I do apologize for any confusion or inconvenience.”
Well I just went on Yahoo and sure enough after clicking on just a few pages saw the same ad down in the bottom right there…
Not sure what’s going on at iStockphoto, but this kind of customer service (and apparent complete cluelessness on their marketing) sure isn’t going to help them win anyone over…certainly not me.
